Privacy Policy
This policy describes the information used to run task matching, applications, communications, payments and support on AssignMate.

1. Information we collect
- Contact and application details: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, college, skills and sample-work links.
- Task information: briefs, references, uploads, budgets, deadlines, submissions, revision notes, ratings, disputes and task-chat messages.
- Location and delivery preferences: city, locality, PIN code, campus, meeting point, handoff time, Mate availability, supported delivery methods and travel range.
- Optional coordinates: your browser can provide latitude and longitude when you choose to use your current location and grant permission. You can enter your area manually instead. This feature saves coordinates for matching; it does not continuously track your location.
- Payment and payout records: payment/order references, amounts, discounts, refund references, payout requests and the UPI or bank details Mates provide for manual payouts.
- Login and verification records, session cookies, email-send status and website usage or performance information.
2. How information is used
We use this information to review applications, recommend matches, coordinate delivery, authenticate users, show dashboard progress, send task and payment updates, process manual payout/refund records, handle support and understand website usage. Location details help recommend nearby Mates; coordinates are optional and matching does not require an exact home address.
Phone numbers support contact and task coordination. An email address is used for login and notifications; entering an email address does not by itself verify academic enrolment.
3. Access and service providers
Assigned Mates and clients can access the task information needed for work, chat and delivery. Administrators access application, task, payment and support records to operate the service. Avoid sharing unnecessary private information in briefs, chat or files.
The platform uses Supabase for data and file storage, Razorpay for payment checkout and Resend for email. Configured Telegram admin alerts can include application or task details. Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics/Speed Insights are included for website usage and performance measurement. These services process information needed for their respective functions under their own terms and privacy practices.
Payment credentials entered into Razorpay checkout are handled by Razorpay. AssignMate records payment references and status rather than collecting card details through its task form. We do not sell or rent student contact information to marketing agencies.
4. Uploaded files and shared links
Uploads currently use public file URLs: anyone with the URL may be able to open the file. External Drive, GitHub or portfolio links follow the sharing settings you choose on those services.
Remove identity documents, passwords, bank details and other private information from sample work and deliverables before uploading. Contact support if a file needs removal; removing a link from a form does not necessarily delete the stored file.
5. Cookies and communications
Session cookies keep you signed in. Analytics services may use browser identifiers or cookies for usage measurement. Browser settings can limit cookies, although blocking session cookies may affect login.
We send login codes, task updates, application decisions, payment notices and payout/refund updates. Optional broadcasts may include an unsubscribe link. Use the link in that message or contact support to request changes to optional communications; essential account and transaction messages may still be needed.
6. Updating or removing information
Approved Mates can update skills, samples, location and delivery preferences in Creator Desk. For corrections to other records, privacy questions, removal requests or communication preferences, email support@assignmate.in.
We may need to retain relevant transaction, dispute or support records for ongoing operations and applicable obligations. There is no automatic account-deletion control in the current dashboard. Requests are reviewed by the team.
7. Security and your choices
Account access and verification controls help limit access to platform records. No online service can promise absolute security. Keep verification codes private, avoid sensitive uploads, and share exact delivery details only when needed with your assigned Mate.
